CONGRESSIONAL REFORM ACT OF 2012

Warren Buffett, in an interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling:

“I could end the deficit in 5 minutes,” he told CNBC . “You just
pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more &
than 3% of GDP , all sitting members of Congress are ineligible
for re-election.

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds)
took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple!
The people demanded it. That was in 1971 -before computers,email, cell phones.

Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year
or less to become the law of the land – all because of public pressure.

Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to
a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask
each of those to do likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will
have this message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.

Congressional Reform Act of 2012

1. There will be No Tenure & No Pension.

A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no
pay when they’re out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social
Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the
Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into
the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the
American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all
Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.
Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and
participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the
American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void
effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this
contract with Congressmen/women.

Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in
Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers
envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their
term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will
only take three days for most people (in the U.S.) to receive
the message. Don’t you think it’s time?

About Life, and What ‘OCCUPY WALL STREET’ is all about!

I’m so tired of hearing the talking heads pontificate on when and how this movement took off…

For one thing, those of us that were there from the beginning, were ENRAGED (I deleted ‘pissed-off’)! Our Twitter feeds were edited, couldn’t get any traction with anyone, totally ignored by Main Stream Media, NO ONE EVEN HEARD ABOUT US!

So it’s FREAKING OUT THOSE OF US WHO HAVE BEEN HERE FROM THE BEGININING! Suddenly, the opinionators are all asking each other:

1. When did this movement ‘take-off’?
ANSWER: THE DAY OF THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE ARRESTS…suddenly 700 people were arrested for meandering onto the roadway as they were being lead away from NYC CITY HALL onto the BROOKLYN BRIDGE..being led, by the way, BY THE NYPD, SEE VIDEO CLIP I POSTED THAT DAY! They didn’t stay on the pedestrian lane and moved onto the roadway. THAT’S WHEN WE GOT TRACTION! Suddenly, media had no choice but to cover our lawlessness.

2. Who is REALLY a part of this movement?”

ANSWER: THE MIDDLE CLASS! YOU! YOUR KIDS!

A. Those who have a kid, or know a kid, or is the kid…sleeping on the couch – no job, no prospects…forced to deal with their parent’s (grandparents) sad, disappointed expression. The disappoint on the face of the person that you know loves you most in the world; OR…

B. Those who’s home is being foreclosed, was foreclosed, is in danger of being foreclosed; OR…

C. Those that had a middle class, union job and are suddenly being portrayed as the enemy of capitalism; enemies of the corporations that are trying so hard to succeed…aww, poor little corporations!

D. Those with little or no healthcare, or who have family with little or no healthcare…who have on-going, pre-existing conditions…need medications and/or on-going treatment…all while watching the insurance companies make higher profits than BEFORE the Healthcare Act went into effect!

D. Those that are sick of hearing the so-called ‘value voters’ pontificate about LOWERING TAXES ON THE JOB CREATORS – OR REMOVING REGULATIONS FROM THE JOB CREATING CORPORATIONS…

…AND WHERE EXACTLY ARE THESE JOB CREATORS? (see CHINA – IT’S CHEAPER THERE!)
…AND WHERE ARE THESE JOBS AFTER 8 YEARS OF DEREGULATIONS AND TAX-LOWERING ON THE ‘JOB CREATORS’. (SEE CHINA – better for ‘botom line’)

Well, that’s what gave birth to this blog – that and a marguerita!

So when did Occupy Wall Street become the American Spring?

That day on the Brooklyn Bridge – when the world suddenly took notice because they had no choice!

And what did these ‘conservatives’ do when they were elected to Congress in 2010?
* They went after Planned Parenthood…
* They went after the Voting Rights Act and made it HARDER TO VOTE…HARDER TO BE A CITIZEN!
* The CONSERVATIVE SUPREME COURT’S earlier ‘CITIZENS UNITED’ ruling – THE CORNERSTONE OF CONSERVATISM IN THE 21 CENTURY – DECLARING PERSONHOOD UPON CORPORATIONS!
* They pushed LESS REGULATIONS on OIL COMPANIES, FOOD COMPANIES, INSURANCE COMPANIES.
* They made ‘Union Member’ sound like a dirty phrase – similar to ‘communist’ or ‘fascist’ etc. (see FOX NEWS).
* They pushed through ‘carry’ laws so you could carry a gun into a classroom, church or bar!
* They voted to overrule EVOLUTION in favor of CREATIONISM!

That are putting the U.S. behind CHINA in Science, Math, Manufacturing.

Good job VALUE VOTERS!

YOU might want to take a look at your own prejudices…your own FEARS….

IT’S ALL ABOUT FEAR!

Fear of those ‘different’ … fear of ‘them’ …. fear of not having ‘control’ or ‘power’ or ‘unChristian’ people’ or ‘security in your old age’ …fear of where your ‘stuff’ will go … fear that YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY will go towards ‘them’ …. those ‘poor, lazy people … fear …FEAR!!!!

Some people run INTO danger …. others spend their lives running AWAY … making sure they’re SAFE.

Life isn’t about being SAFE!

The biggest corporations (ie Apple) were created by ‘RISK TAKERS’….

The biggest religions were created by ‘RISK TAKERS’…Jesus, Mohammad, Buddha – ALL RISK TAKERS….

ALL MAJOR BI-POLAR, CREATIVE, OUT-OF-THE-BOX THINKERS…

…asking questions… giving possible directions…OPTIONS…presenting the possibilities…

MY HEAD IS EXPLODING…can you tell?

That’s why what was supposed to be a ‘HUMOROUS, SARCASTIC BLOG’ … a cute take on society’s ills, has taken a very SERIOUS bent. And it’s all because our society no longer cares about the next generation…not really.

So what keeps me up at night? Ironically, FEAR..for my daughter’s future.

So i started out wanting to be my funny, sarcastic little self, pointing at the hypocrisy of the self-right-ous.

But my own personal fears and subsequent anger took over. I couldn’t help it. It became about my own child…her world…her medical insurance & survival … but mostly, it’s about the values I want her to have…it’s all I have to leave behind…it’s all written down…here…on this blog…on a blog she pushed me to create…because she wanted for me what I have always wanted for her…to be all she could be (without joining the army).

So it’s about what comes after us…when we’re gone…dust to dust ‘n all that stuff…

I guess I went a bit further than OCCUPY WALL STREET …

But that’s what they are ALL doing down there…around the country…around the world!

People – they see the need for change because the ‘money changers’ have somehow taken over and their values and needs have suddenly become paramount!

We’re kept entertained, with the latest gadgets and reality shows, told GREED IS GOOD by the Donald Trumps of the world.

HOW TRULY PITIFUL THE 60′S GENERATION INFLUENCE ON THE WORLD…not exactly what we had in mind!

But we grew up, got 40lk’s that suddenly tied OUR futures to the wealth created in the stock market.

Then some financial geniuses created financial instruments that, instead of investing in goods or services, made money off of money (ie Hedge Funds etc.).

Then we put in place a Supreme Court that, in 2000 BUSH v GORE, over-ruled the vote of the people and now instituted, via CITIZENS UNITED, unlimited corporate money in the American political process.

Those two acts by the Supreme Court did more to bring down the United States than any foreign entity could hope to do.  Bush pushed through two unlimited, unfunded wars, lowered taxes on wealthy and brought this country to its knees.  BUT IT DIDN’T START WITH BUSH…it started with Reagan and the Air Traffic Controllers and later with his deregulation of the banking industry.

Now, this same conservative movement is committed to doing NOTHING – in order to bring down a President of the United States – in order to gain back the power they so abused for 8 years.

Well, don’t get too comfortable – the Democrats are just as guilty – they’ve made themselves nice and comfortable off the same Wall Street money as the Republicans.  Good Luck trying to find a politician who isn’t  VERY WELL OFF!  And if they’re middle class when they start, they won’t be when they leave!

This isn’t a ‘and they lived happily ever after’ kinda story…it’s on-going and painful to watch.  Which is why I couldn’t stand by and just watch anymore.

As an American, I have a voice – thank goodness.  And though my Twitter account was blocked during the birthing of the Occupy movement, we have an audience now – whether they like it or not – and we intend to educate, inform and expose them to truths & realities of life in the good old USA in 2011.
